COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
sixth grade
Sixth grade transitions from elementary school to middle school and moves to the 3rd floor of the new facility. Typical classes for 6th grade include Language Arts, Differentiated Math, Science, Social Studies and new this year is a Study Skills course designed to help sixth graders transition to middle/high school and develop organizational skills which they can use throughout their education. Additional electives may include, Middle School Industrial Arts, FACS, Band and Art. The last hour of the day is devoted to Physical Education and sports practice for athletes.
seventh grade
Seventh grade courses include English 7, Differentiated Math, Science 7, Social Studies 7 and additional electives may include, Middle School Industrial Arts, FACS, Band and Art. The last hour of the day is devoted to Physical Education and sports practice for athletes.
eighth grade
Eighth grade courses include English 8, Differentiated Math, Science 8, Social Studies 8 and additional electives may include, Middle School Industrial Arts, FACS, Spanish, Band and Art. The last hour of the day is devoted to Physical Education and sports practice for athletes.
6-8th grade Supplies needed:
College ruled loose-leaf paper
Pens, red and blue or black
Pencils with erasers and/or erasers
Holder for pens and pencils that fits a 3-ring binder
Daily planner for assignments
Box of Tissues
MS English - 2 spiral notebooks, 1 pocket folder, 1 pack of highlighters, one pack of pencils, pens - 6th Grade also needs 1 3-ring binder
MS Math - 1 pack of lined paper, 1 pack of graph paper, 1 pack of wooden pencils, 1 folder or small binder to hold notes and homework
Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry - TI30 Scientific Calculator, 1 pack of lined paper, 1 pack of graph paper (Geometry), 1 pack of wooden pencils, 1 folder or small binder to store notes and homework
MS Social Studies- 1 college ruled 1 subject notebook, 1” three-ring binder, binder dividers (at least 5), 3x5 white lined index cards (at least 100), colored pencils (at least 12 colors)
MS Spanish – 3 ring binder with dividers, notebook, or loose leaf paper
MS Art – 1 pocket 3-prong folder for sketchbooks, 3 white posterboards 20”x26”
