COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
NINTH grade | FRESHMAN YEAR
Freshmen can expect to be scheduled into English 9, Physical Science, World History, Spanish I and Health/PE. Math classes are based on the level of math completed in 8th grade. Many students will be taking Algebra I or Geometry. Freshmen typically have one elective class. Students may also be eligible for concurrent enrollment classes with administrative approval.
TENTH grade | SOPHOMORE YEAR
Sophomores can expect to be scheduled into English 10, Biology, US History and an appropriate math course. Sophomores typically have three elective classes. Students may also be eligible for concurrent enrollment classes with administrative approval.
ELEVENTH grade | junior year
Juniors can expect to be scheduled into English 11/12 or College Prep 11/12, Civics/Economics, a science course of their choosing, and an appropriate math course. Juniors typically have three elective classes. Students may also be eligible for concurrent enrollment classes with administrative approval. Juniors on pace to graduate may also take auto class at Peyton High School.
TWELFTH grade | senior YEAR
Seniors can expect to be scheduled into English 11/12 or College Prep 11/12 and Senior Seminar. Seniors typically have five elective classes. Students may also be eligible for concurrent enrollment classes with administrative approval. Seniors are eligible to participate in work study or become a teacher’s aide. Seniors on pace to graduate may choose to schedule only five or six classes.

Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry - TI30 Scientific Calculator, 1 pack of lined paper, 1 pack of graph paper (Geometry), 1 pack of wooden pencils, 1 folder or small binder to store notes
Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus - TI83 or TI84 calculator or TI30 Scientific calculator, 1 pack of lined paper, 1 folder or small binder to store notes
HS English - 2 spiral notebooks, 1 pack of pencils, 1 pack of highlighters, pens, 1 pocket folder
HS Spanish - 3-ring binder with dividers, loose leaf paper
AG classes, Animal Science, Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology - composition notebook, pencils, pens
HS Social Studies - 2 boxes of pencils, 1 folder or binder, 2 packs of paper or 1 notebook, at least 2 boxes of tissues
